Movies, PK Colinet and I have a history. At 12, PK directed me in our school theater play. Even then, I remember it clear as day, while we were all running around the community center ecstatic we got to skip gym class, he was there to do a job. A tween, but driven and with a vision. We then lost touch for a few years until our love for anything creative brought us back together as 16-years olds, when he cast me in one of his short movies.
Thank you to Elsa, PK, and James for hosting this! The YouTube live-stream was a fun peek at the behind-the-scenes process of a Kickstarter campaign and its influences.
I don't know where else to post this, so I'm just going to drop this here. When are the miniprints being sent to the early subscribers? I paid $60 - a lot of money to me - nine months ago to support this endeavor, but to be completely honest, I feel a bit let down. In July, I was told it would be out in August. Now it's almost November and I still don't have it. I apologize in advance if it somehow missed me in the mail. but I'm still waiting and it's kind of soured me on the whole substack process.
Thank you for reaching out about your rewards and I am deeply sorry for the delay we've been experiencing on the physical items. I'm used to shipping thousand and thousands of books out and it's always been a very smooth process but we did encounter some difficulty this time around.
The production designer who was originally working on the substack editions (and mini-print) was very late with submitting his files and ultimately had to withdraw from the project because of schedule issues. Which meant we had to find someone else and start from scratch. We lost a good 3 months because of it, and I'm truly sorry for the delay.
I was waiting to get the final confirmation from the printer before sending a newsletter but here's where we are: our new designer turned to files about 10 days ago, and they are in the printer's hands right now. They were still recovering from NYCC, but they confirmed receiving the files yesterday. From there, it's a 7-week production and then shipping.
We will still be within our first year so theoretically, we're on schedule, but I had announce them much earlier and I shouldn't have.
We're immensely grateful for your support and I hope that my message will at least show you that the delay doesn't mean we take your hard-earned money for granted. We don't. I don't.

Thanks for joining us, Scott!
