Hello Elsa, congrats on the Room Service campaign. I wanted to know if you can clarify how the art add-on rewards for that campaign affect Love Everlasting tier subscriber perks. Specifically, in LE’s debut post selling the subscription tiers, “Exclusive first access to buying any Love Everlasting art (starting issue 2),” was listed as an exclusive perk for Everlasting tier. The key words here, “any Love Everlasting art (starting at issue 2),” I took to mean we’d have first access to any issues pages starting with issue 2. So far, we have only had access once, on March 28th. Did “ Exclusive first access to buying any Love Everlasting art (starting issue 2)” mean that Everlasting tier subscribers would only have access once, on March 28th? This post here seems to say that Love Everlasting pages are only available as add-ons through the Room Service campaign.

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your question! I'm glad this is giving me a chance to clarify.

If, as an Everlasting subscriber, you purchase a page during the campaign, your first access privileges still apply. At the end of the campaign, I'll simply go through the list of OA backers and will bump up any Everlasting subscriber to the top of the list.

I hope this answers your question and alleviate your concerns.

Elsa

Thank you for the response. I don’t think your response clarifies the access Everlasting Tier will have to original LE pages, without Room Service backing, though. Are Everlasting tier subscribers barred from access to Love Everlasting original pages, unless they go through the Room Service Campaign? Will Everlasting tier subscribers have an avenue to get access to Love Everlasting pages by their Everlasting subscription alone?

It seems from the original January post that, “Exclusive first access to buying any Love Everlasting art (starting issue 2),” means:

Everlasting Tier = exclusive first access to LE pages.

Not:

Everlasting Tier + Room Service campaign backing = exclusive first access to LE pages

If Room Service campaign backers have access to LE pages, without Everlasting tier only (no Room Service backing) having access to those same pages, Everlasting tier will not have “exclusive first access,” by the very definition of “exclusive.” Everlasting tier subscribers have already spent $250/yr for, in part, exclusive first access. They should not have to pay more money (aka back a separate campaign) to get the perks they thought they were being sold with the original $250/yr. (I like your work as evidenced by my Everlasting subscription, but horror is just not for me.)

Greg,

I apologize if that wasn't clear in my response, I haven't slept much these past few days :)

To be clear, you do NOT need to back the Room Service campaign to get first access to the pages. I was trying to alleviate your concern that Room Service backers might get to choose before you.

I wanted to announce it later, but you're right to ask now, I have planned an original art sale for Everlasting subscribers late November (shhhhh).

How does that sound?

Sounds good, Elsa. Thank you for clarifying. We’ll see if I have the scratch after Baltimore Comic Con next weekend. Unexpected purchases from finding new artists to love are part of what make conventions great, as I’m sure you’re aware, but it’s good to know now that I better start saving for November! Thanks again, and I hope you and Pierrick can come to a Baltimore Comic Con in the near future!

It's the bane of every art lover's existence. That and wall space.

Have fun at the show and I hope to visit Baltimore someday, yes!

Hey Elsa - Just a heads up the only Original Art I see available as an add-on is from The Room Service comic, not Love Everlasting. Maybe I'm just not seeing it?
