Pastel palettes and button noses

Following Matias Bergara and Rafael Albuquerque, today we’re featuring the artist and co-creator of Snotgirl and Image Comics superstar Leslie Hung! We were overjoyed at the idea of having her on board and boy did she deliver.

Those colors alone…

Here’s what Leslie says about her process for this piece:

”I tried a few variations of compositions based off of vintage romance and pulp illustrations from the '50s. Old illustrations are a huge inspiration for me, so I was really happy to be able to do a cover for a comic where the inspiration fell in line with the narrative.”

Love at Joan’s beautiful face! I can’t pull off cute little button noses like Leslie’s. UGH.

And those inks for her hair! So organic and free. Lots to learn, lots to learn…
